The 38th International Tourism Fair (FITCuba2018) closed its doors this Saturday in the hotels of the northern keys of Villa Clara after four dates dedicated to the United Kingdom, to the exhibition of the main tourist destinations and services of the province and to the sun product and beach as a flagship modality of Cuban hotels.

 During the closing ceremony, the Minister of Tourism of Cuba, Manuel Marrero Cruz, highlighted the large presence of more than 3,000 participants from 62 nations, as well as the good presence of representatives from countries such as Spain, the United States, Mexico and the United Kingdom. Similarly, he announced the signing of agreements and business intentions dedicated especially to the development of aeronautics and hotel management in the main tourist destinations of the country.

In turn, Marrero Cruz thanked the people of Villa Clara for their support of FITCuba 2018, which he described as one of the best in history. “In these days we achieved the goal of relaunching Cayo Santa Maria as a completely renovated tourist destination,” he added.

In addition to the traditional signatures of agreements and contracts with travel agencies and tour operators, other important moments of FITCuba 2018 were the presentation of the destination Villa Clara, the launching of Sagua la Grande as a tourist destination and the activities for the anniversaries of entities such as Gaviota SA and 25 years of Iberostar in Cuba.

Likewise, the presentation of a Special Recognition of the CITMA to two Cuban hotels, the exhibition of local suppliers, a Great Public Fair in the city of Santa Clara and the presentation of products such as the Sports Climbing in Viñales and the potentialities of Cuba also stood out. for event or health tourism.

In the activity also transpired that the next version of the International Tourism Fair will be based in Havana in the year of its 500th anniversary and will be dedicated to Spain as the guest of honor and to tourism events and incentives.
